| Half Price Books.com This year the program is a bit different, and I like the changes! The kids get a log for their reading from June 1st-July 31st. Reading is logged each day and totaled each week. If the kids read 600 minutes or more (an average of 10 minutes each day) the log can be turned in between July 25th-August 7th for a $5 Back to school Bucks card which is store credit. This eliminates a trip to the store each of the weeks. Here is a run-down of all the details. Pick up your reading logs any time at the Half Price Bookstore near you! If you plan on participating let me know which store is closest to you and I'll plan to come with you! And one other plug for this amazing store (and no they are not paying me to speak such kind words...) they have a great buy back program. I go into the store once a month with my current magazines and they give me $0.25 per magazine for recycling them there to be re-sold. They also take gently used books as well. Try it out!! Ok, here are the details: How kids 14 and under can participate in the Summer Reading Program: 1. Set a goal to read each day for at least 15 minutes or more throughout June and July. Grown-ups may read aloud for kids who are still learning. 2. Join HPB for their Feed your Brain kick off on Sunday, June 5 at 2 pm for the Biggest Storytime of the Summer at your local Half price books. (not required) 3. Add up your minutes and have your parent initial a the end of each week. 4. If you've read 600 minutes or more, turn in your reading log between July 25th-August 7th to receive your $5 Back-to-School Bucks summer reading reward! |

Thats awesome-thanks for posting! Is there even a hpb in spokane???
Jenessa, I don't think there is a half price books in Spokane...:( But what about that bookstore downtown? I'm thinking of the one just north of Riverfront park, can't remember the name. You can also check at the library. They usually have a program for kids in the summer.
